The Brian Boru in Thames

This hotel was built in 1867 and was 1 of 122 hotels in Thames, most are gone now but the Brian Boru still stands, and is a hopping place. We stayed here as we were unable to find anyplace to stay on a Saturday night...there was a fishing derby on in the area and the weather had been nice for several days and the locals were at the beach. We slept well and got an early start the next morning

The Coromandel

views along the Pacific Coast Highway, many curves were marked at 25 km/hour, and there were several curves with mirrors at the corners...reminded me of the Logan Pass

we had some rain, this is one of the few times I needed my rain jacket

Napier to Rotorua

Traveling from Napier we spotted sheep being worked by dogs, we stopped and the farmer was penning the sheep for sheering.
The Dairy Industry is now the second largest industry in New Zealand...many herds of cows spot the fields
Sheila had to stop at a garden center in Rotorua to check out the flowers
